Foreign Exchange Dealer

REF: FED/T/A/2013

Purpose

To promote, control and co-ordinate the bank’s foreign currency spot and forward positions created by sales and purchases to/from branches and clients. Manage all foreign exchange risk positions for the bank.

The Job
·                     Maximising Profitability
·                     Providing excellent service to customers
·                     Business Development and networking internally and externally
·                     Building relationships with counterparty banks and brokers, both local and internationally
·                     Keeping up to date with latest market developments and technology
·                     Speculative trading and daily trading of customer-based forex positions within limits to maximize profits
·                     Daily contact with the Bank’s Corporate clients in a very competitive market
The Person:

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
·                     A Bachelors degree in Commerce, or Financial related degree.
·                     Other sales related professional qualifications would be an added advantage.
Competencies
·                     Mathematically inclined with a good economic background
·                     Need to be up to date with current global developments including economic and political
·                     Good communication skills, both written and verbal
·                     Computer literate
·                     In-depth knowledge of dealing systems and functions
·                     Ability to work under pressure
·                     Knowledge of Foreign Exchange Treasury Products

Dealer, SME and Retail Sales

Ret: D/SME/T/A/2OI 3

Purpose

Overall management and responsibility for Treasury Retail Sales within Family Bank Treasury.

This entails ensuring a strategic and co-ordinated sales focus on servicing the Treasury needs of both existing and new business SME and Retail clients.

The Job
·                     Develops and drives Family Bank’s Treasury SME & Retail sales strategy
·                     co-ordinate and roll-out of the Treasury SME & Retail sales model within Family Bank’s Treasury,
·                     Support the role out of structured products to in-country SME & Retail clients
·                     Support the sharing of business leads/opportunities (cross-selling) within the wider Family Bank and subsidiary companies.
·                     Maximising profitability on income/revenue derived from Treasury products.
·                     Build SME & Retail client relationships
·                     Identity the SME & Retail customer needs and facilitate suitable Treasury products to service their requirements
·                     Implement a strategy to pursue SME & Retail clients that have never dealt Treasury business with Family Bank.
·                     Implement a strategy to pursue SME & Retail clients already dealing with other divisions of Family Bank, but not Treasury, but having Treasury business opportunities.
·                     Support the RM’s (Relationship Mangers) in developing relationships with SME & Retail clients
·                     Follow through with the leads and access to strategically influential stakeholders in SME, large Retail, commercial and government organisations in order to introduce them to the benefits of dealing through Family Bank and its subsidiaries
·                     Ability to build credibility across all levels within and external to Family Bank via the skilful application of specialist knowledge and relationship building skills.
·                     Continually drives and role models a superior client orientated culture within Family Bank’s Treasury division that aims to exceed client expectations.
·                     Ensures that supportive, open relationships exist between RM’s, relevant stakeholders and service providers within Family Bank.
·                     Follow through with the leads and access to strategically influential stakeholders in SME, large Retail, commercial and government organisations in order to introduce them to the benefits of dealing through Family Bank and its subsidiaries.
·                     Provide support to all dealers within the Treasury team.
The Person:

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
·                     A Bachelors degree in Commerce, or Financial related degree.
·                     Other sales related professional qualifications would be an added advantage.
·                     A good understanding of macro economics and current economic trends
·                     A good appreciation and knowledge of Risk Management, covering Operational Risk, Market Risk and Credit Risk
·                     Treasury and Banking background
·                     Thorough knowledge of the Exchange Control Rules and Regulations applicable, if any
·                     Strong networks within the SME I Retail I commercial/government sectors
·                     Experience in high-level relationship building and maintenance
·                     Good understanding of the Financial Institutions Act.
·                     High integrity

Corporate Sales

Purpose

Overall management and responsibility for Treasury Corporate Sales within the Family Bank Treasury.

This entails ensuring a strategic and co-ordinated sales focus on servicing the Treasury needs of both existing and new business corporate clients

The Job
·                     Develops and drives Family Bank’s Treasury Corporate sales strategy around growing and servicing clients
·                     co-ordinate and roll-out of the Treasury corporate sales model within Family Bank Kenya’s Treasury..
·                     Support the role out of structured products to in-country corporate clients on a one-on-one.
·                     Support the sharing of business leads/opportunities (cross-selling) within the wider Family Bank.
·                     Maximising profitability on income /revenue derived from Treasury products.
·                     Build corporate client relationships with the objective of seeking new Treasury business from existing clients.
·                     Identify the corporate customer needs and facilitate suitable Treasury products to service their requirements
·                     Maintain close contact with all internal stakeholders.
·                     Support the RM’s (Relationship Mangers) in developing relationships with strategically corporate clients
·                     Provide support to all dealers within the Treasury Team.
The Person:

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
·                     A Bachelors degree in Commerce, or Financial related degree.
·                     Other sales related professional qualifications would be an added advantage.
Competencies
·                     Has a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers, opportunities, challenges, needs, competition and threats inherent in the environments/business sectors within which clients operate.
·                     Has insight into local and international trends, developments and benchmarks within the financial sector, banking and specifically Treasury products.
·                     Has a good understanding of both traditional and non traditional competitors, their drivers, products, strengths, vulnerabilities, market share/client base and the impact that these factors have on Family Bank’s value proposition to the client base.
