Accounting Leader (Maternity Cover) 12 Month Contract

The Company:

Rangeland Foods Ltd. is a specialist producer of frozen hamburgers and portion-controlled meats for the food service business. Its product range comprises 70 different varieties. These products are the brand leaders in Ireland and are supplied throughout Europe.

The company is privately owned and it has been trading successfully since 1982. It owns and operates a single site EC-approved food processing plant. It’s facilities, processes and practices are subject to annual independent audit by SAI Global and has BRC approval at Grade A Level. This is a technology-driven company, with a policy of reinvesting a major share of it’s profits in continually expanding and upgrading it’s capacity. It operates a continuous improvement program and continually invests in training and staff development. The company is engaged in substantial development including implementation of a Lean Manufacturing program.

The Role:

The role of the Accounting Leader will include ensuring that all accounting functions are carried out on a timely basis and all management information is available and up to date. S/he will manage the accounting team and delegate the necessary jobs to ensure the timely execution of all accounting functions. As such, s/he will be a key link with the company’s management team.

The Person:

We are seeking an experienced person with competent leadership skills and who is highly computer literate. S/he will be an excellent communicator, organiser and multi-tasker with a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a busy pressurised environment.


Accounting Technician qualification and/or qualified/part qualified accountant

Key Skills:

    Organising and managing the Accounting Team
    Ensuring the timely execution of all accounting functions
    Highly computer literate including SAGE 50 and Microsoft Office tools
    Ability to deal with urgent issues under pressure
    Efficient planner and organiser
    Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
    Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and to drive operational excellence


    Ensure all accounting functions are carried out on a timely basis.
    Ensure all Revenue returns are completed and filed on time.
    Bank Reconciliations
    Monitor Debtors and compile Monthly Projected Cash Flow
    Cover for weekly wages processing
    Manage sterling exposure
    FX conversions and forward contracts cover
    Bank Deposits
    Expenditure on Training and R&D
    Information for daily management meetings
    Credit control for debtors
    Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) reporting
    Management Information System (RIMIS) daily and weekly reports
    Time Management System (TMS) Rostering
    Liaise with Insurers
    Maintain Insurance Claims
    Employee holidays control system
    CSO Forms
    Customer Costings
    Reconcile supplier intakes
    Reconcile information for completion of monthly accounts
    Verify Monthly Creditors Reconciliation
