FORESTER
The Langlade County Forestry and Recreation Department will be accepting applications for a
Forester position. The position will be full time. Beginning hourly wage is $20.48 per hour,
based on 40 hours per week, plus a full benefit package.
Major duties will be to assist the Forest & Recreation Administrator in the management of the
timber sales program on county lands, tree planting program, and all recreation facilities and
programs on county lands. Major duties include a significant workload in managing the timber
sales program on county lands. Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, selecting
potential timber sales sites, cruising timber sale sites, marking timber sales for bidding, selling
timber, scaling of timber, and inspecting timber sale operations. Additional primary
responsibilities include managing the tree planting and forest regeneration programs on county
lands.
Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree or related four-year degree in Forestry or
Forest Management from a college that is accredited by the Society of American Foresters.
