Customer Service & Supply Chain Manager Lighting Africa - EMEA


Department  :  Supply Chain – West Africa.

Organizational unit  :  Lighting Africa - EMEA

Location  :   Accra – Ghana (Initial period in Casablanca – Morocco)

Purpose of the job

Development, realization, implementation and controlling of customer service & integral supply chain processes (planning, procurement, order fulfillment) and performance, in line with agreed business goals and in close cooperation with internal and external business partners.

IT Implementation of business processes in Ghana/Nigeria.

Member of West Africa MT.

Position of the job within the organisation

Jobholder directly reports to the Lighting West Africa General Manager.

Functionally reports into Supply Chain Manager - Africa.

Key Areas of Responsibility

    Order fulfillment process owner, including customer service processes
    Deploy and drive customer service & supply chain processes and improvements
    Downstream Supply Chain delivery performance
    Business review with all SC business partners
    Managing relationships with Key Accounts
    Gathering Customer information regarding logistic processes
    Managing Sales Support / Quotation Desk
    Managing Planning and Procurement, business analysis and 3PL coordinations including distribution costs
    Managing logistic performance based on KPIs defined
    Overall responsible for service level, stock, slow moving / aging stock and costs
    Maintaining contacts with SC Competence Center for strategic projects
    Ensuring a highly engaged team & appropriate development of team competencies in the area of business and logistic knowledge. Matching capabilities to job requirements.
    Lead IT Implementation of all business processes in the region

Job Context

    Member of the West Africa Management Team, reporting directly to the West Africa Lighting GM and functionally to the Supply Chain Head of Africa
    Member of the Africa Supply Chain Team which is linked to EMEA Supply Chain
    Maintains contacts with key customers in cooperation with the key account manager
    Maintains contacts with sales & marketing teams
    Maintains contacts with the OTD improvement team for the strategic projects in the countries
    Key point of contact with internal supply chain parties and external service providers
    Manages SC team; Ensuring a highly engaged team & ensuring appropriate development of staff.
    Maintains contacts with IT network

Required competencies

    In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain processes (physical and commercial)
    Academic degree in Supply Chain area and min. 8 years work experience
    Knowledge and experience in handling logistical complexity like LCs, VAT issues, country dependant regulations and import duties, free zones, documents, etc.
    In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP R/3, Helios, APO
    Solid experience in SAP implementation in an organization
    Experience in leading a team, preferably as Supply Chain Manager
    Team-player, motivator, result driven, pro-active, analytical, leader
    Fluent in English, French and local language; spoken and written
    Prepared to travel (up to 25%)

    Experience in organisational set-up / start-up;  entrepreneurship behaviour
    Process oriented;  leadership in key strategic projects
    Experience in building up teams, although not physically located at the same place
    Experience in setting the pace, creating a strategy and getting it done
    Worked in multinational company environment
    Knowledge of different statistical models of forecasting
