Environmental Broker - Property & Casualty

THE OPPORTUNITY:

• Underwrite new and renewal business for insurance company partners based on underwriting authority and contract guidelines
• Evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing
• Develop and execute marketing plan to drive new business, including in-person visits, telemarketing and distribution of marketing materials
• Have knowledge of or perform computer data entry of quotations, binders and related support documents
• Monitor key metrics, such as, new business hit ratio, renewal retention ratio, premium growth, and loss ratio, formulating corrective action where necessary
• Mentor and train Assistant Underwriters as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferred focus on Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Studies, Risk Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 6 years B2B sales experience, with a standard market carrier or wholesale environment with focus on Environmental/Casualty Lines
• Strong sales and marketing skills a must, business acumen, interest in continued education and professional development
• Appropriate agent and broker licensing, CPCU or other industry designations preferred
• Environmental consulting including Oil & Gas experience preferred
