@WalmartLabs is looking for core Java Engineers (senior level) interested in defining the next-generation, greenfield foundation for one of the largest retail companies in the world.

Position Description

    Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Software Engineering and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans
    Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects
    Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design
    Leads the work of other small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects
    Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
    Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions
    Provides support to the business
    Troubleshoots business and production issues


Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years experience building scalable ecommerce applications or mobile software

Additional Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of extensive Java / JEE programming experience with a focus on server side components.
• Expertise in design / developing platform components like caching, messaging, event processing, automation, transformation and tooling frameworks.
• Experience with building scalable, high performing and robust Java applications.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and related tools (Jenkins/Hudson/CruiseControl/Maven).
• Experience with Code Quality Governance related tools (Sonar, Gerrit, PMD, FindBugs, Checkstyle, Emma, Cobertura, JIRA, etc).
• Experience with Plug-in development for tools like Eclipse, Jenkins, Sonar, etc.
• Experience with Source Code Management Tools (GitHUB, SVN, CVS, Clearcase).
• Experience and passion to work in a fast paced Agile environment, delivering functional features in small time durations.
• Experience in building SOA systems.
• Expertise with some or all of Apache, JBoss / Tomcat, JMS or other application servers like WebLogic, etc.
• Knowledge of databases - SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience and knowledge of cloud enabled services / applications.
