Applications are invited for appointments as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in
Administration and Curriculum Studies (3 posts) in the Faculty of Education, tenable from 1
September  2012, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal. Appointees with
demonstrated performance will be considered for tenure towards the end of the second three-year
contract.
Applicants should have strength in one or more of the following areas: curriculum theory and
development; school administration and planning; educational leadership and administration;
philosophy of education; liberal studies teaching; and economics of higher education. They should
possess a Ph.D. degree, a professional teaching qualification in the relevant discipline and
substantial experience in teaching at the tertiary level. Knowledge of the local context would be an
advantage. Appointees will be required to teach on courses offered by the Faculty at various levels
from undergraduate to doctorate, supervise research postgraduate students, undertake teaching
practicum supervision, contribute actively to research and undertake administrative
responsibilities.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and
experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The
appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a
retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as
applicable.
