Massive Recruitment at Kenyatta University

 Kenyatta University wishes to recruit qualified and dedicated applicants for vacant positions in the following offices.


1. Information Security Manager

Grade 13

Job Description:

The Information Security Manager will be in charge of establishing, managing and administering the University’s ICT security policy and procedures to ensure preventive and recovery strategies are in place, and minimise the risk of internal and external security threats.

Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree in Information Technology, Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

In addition, applicants must have the following:

    At least four (4) years working experience in a busy ICT environment at least two (2) of which as an IS Security manager, IS Security Administrator or IS Security specialist.
    Wide experience on deployment of routers, switches, vlans and firewalls.
    Working knowledge of windows and Linux operating systems and Servers; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
    CISA qualifications will be an added advantage.

2. Network Infrastructure Manager

Grade 13

Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree in Information Technology, Electrical / Telecommunications engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

In addition, applicants must have the following:

    At least four (4) years working experience in a busy ICT environment two (2) of which as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator.
    Wide experience on deployment of routers, switches, vlans, firewalls is essential.
    Working knowledge with windows and Linux operating systems and Servers are essential. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
    CISA qualifications will be an added advantage.

Duties:

The Network Infrastructure Manager will be expected to carry out the following duties:

    Carry out strategic planning for Networks Infrastructure and Services
    Provide leadership in the planning, development, operation and maintenance of University Networks Infrastructure and Services.
    Provide technical guidance in procurement of necessary hardware, software, services and facilities.
    Develop, implement and enforce Networks Infrastructure and Services policies, standards and quality assurance.
    Monitor and evaluate Networks Infrastructure and Services, related projects and personnel in the Networks section.
    Develop, implement and enforce necessary Networks Infrastructure and Services security measures.

3. User Support and Maintenance Manager

Grade 13

Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree in Information Technology, Electrical / Telecommunications engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

In addition applicants must have the following:

    Provide leadership in development, implementation, enforcement and review of the User Support Policy and Standards.
    Design procedures and systems for user support activities.
    Manage and supervise ICT infrastructure projects and resources.
    Communicate relevant User Support and Maintenance information to users in campuses.
    Supervise the personnel in the User Support and Maintenance Section.
    Manage the activities of the User Support and Maintenance Section.
    Participate in the preparation of budgets and procurement of computer hardware, software, services and related facilities.

4. Senior ICT Security Officer

Grade 11

Job Description:

The Senior ICT Security Officer will be in charge of establishing, co-ordinating and administering the University’s ICT security policy and procedures to ensure preventive and recovery strategies are in place, and minimise the risk of internal and external security threats.

Applicants must be holders of a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

In addition, applicants must have the following:

    At least four (4) years working experience in a busy ICT environment at least two (2) of which as an IS Security manager, IS Security Administrator or IS Security specialist.
    Wide experience on deployment of routers, switches, vlans and firewalls.
    Working knowledge of windows and Linux operating systems and Servers; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

Terms of Service:

The terms of service includes a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.

Successful candidates will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms of service.
