My US based client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer who is looking to relocate to America.

The role of Senior Project Engineer is to liase with Engineers across departments to develop existing product designs and improve manufacturing processes to ensure both quality and efficiency is maintained throughout the whole production process. The ideal candidate will come from a Mechanical Engineering background ideally having completed an apprenticeship. They should have hands on experience of mechanical assembly, design and have worked within a Manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities
*Develop custom product designs which meet customer and industry expectations with high quality solutions.
*Specify material and test requirements that allow consistent performance for meeting customer expectations.
*Prepare proposals based on applications data provided by Sales Department and/or the customer.
*Work with product engineers to identify standard designs best suited for adaptation, and identify improvements or adaptations to existing products in accordance with design policies and procedures and establishing material and test requirements for those designs.
*Working with the Production Engineers to improve the Manufacturing process and ensure 'best practice' is maintained throughout.

Skills and Experience:
*Experience creating and implementing design development processes.
*Experience of improving manufacturing processes to ensure 'best practice' is maintained.
*Experience processing materials such as moulding of plastics, metal stamping, and machining of metals and plastics.
*Extensive knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
*Experience of "high tech" markets such as Oil &Gas, Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device or Automotive would be beneficial
*Strong working knowledge of Solid Works or equivalent CAD systems.
*Demonstrated experience in the application of Finite Element Analysis (via Solid Works Simulation as preferred).
*Strong oral and written communication skills aswell as well-developed analytical skills.
*Experience of leading projects to a successful conclusion.
*Excellent problem solving and responsible decision making skills.
*Ability to work independently whilst pro-active and results driven.
