Job Overview:
The Development Coordinator serves as a member of the Resource Development Department and works closely with the Development Manager to leverage community, foundation, and public funding opportunities through proposal writing, grant tracking and reporting, and unrestricted fundraising. The Development Coordinator works to ensure the IRC in Florida has adequate resources to support programs and services and is responsible for raising an agreed upon annual financial goal. This is a full-time non-exempt position, reporting to the Development Manager in Florida.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals with a focus on grant funding
Assist in the development of an annual grants calendar with specific and measurable goals and objectives for development of restricted and unrestricted private and public grant funding
Support the implementation of a strategy linked to the fundraising plan to solicit new sources of unrestricted and private institutional funding through the submission of proposals, letters of inquiry and other requests for funding
Research private and public funding opportunities and serve as the focal person for the development of new proposals with program managers
Coordinate the preparation of letters of inquiry, proposals, budgets and reports to local foundations and other potential institutional donors to solicit resources for programs in collaboration with program staff, the Development Manager, and the Finance Manager
Assist Resource Development staff, the Development Manager, and the Deputy Director in raising awareness about IRC and representing the office at meetings, conferences and public speaking engagements when needed
Maintain grants management tracking systems and regularly update the Resource Development staff, and the Deputy Director with accurate data
Ensure the effective maintenance of contract and grant files for each funded program with consistent documentation standards
Liaise with IRC HQ revenue, grants and business development staff on all new contracts, grants and sub-grants
Manage the proposal submission process via OTIS by coordinating with program managers and IRC HQ staff to ensure on-time submission of proposals

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Certification or continuing education with grant writing, proposal development, and/or fundraising preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience required with progressive levels of responsibility. Minimum of one (1) year experience writing grants.
Program management experience strongly preferred. People management experience a plus
Proven, superior organizational skills in a complex, multi-tasking environment
Outcome driven work style, establishing clear expectations and ongoing measurement of performance toward achieving targeted outcomes
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, to work independently as well as in a team
Excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new computer applications rapidly; experience with CRM/donor management databases and email content management platforms preferred
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with current and prospective institutional donors and volunteers, partner agencies, multi-cultural clients and colleagues on all levels
Experience working with refugees and immigrants, international work and/or non-profit experience is highly desirable.

Working Environment:
A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
May require weekend and/or evening work.
