Teaching Consultant in English Language Education

Founded in 1911, The University of Hong Kong is committed to the highest international standards

research disciplines spread across 10 faculties and about 100 sub-divisions of studies and

Applications are invited for appointment as Teaching Consultant in English Language Education in
the Faculty of Education, tenable from 1 September 2012, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the
possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have strong teaching background. Experience in English Language Teacher
Education would be an asset. They should also have at least a higher degree in the relevant area, a
professional teaching qualification, with substantial experience, and good knowledge of the local
education scene. The appointee will be required to take up substantial teaching responsibilities,
undertake school practicum supervision and assume administrative responsibilities.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and
experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The
appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a
retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary; housing benefits will be provided as
applicable.  Please note that the University is not able to offer passage and baggage allowance to the
successful candidate recruited from overseas.
