Description:
Comic book COLORIST needed for six page pitch - $220 total

We are currently looking for a colorist to finish our six page pitch that we are submitting to publishers very soon.

Title: Broken, a six-issue mini-series, 20-24 pages each issue
Genre: Science fiction.
Rating: Mature (language, some violence/blood)
The plot: Twenty-six-year-old Tommy's life takes a turn for the "strange" when he encounters a mysterious man at the train station. This man has haunted Tommy's dreams for as long as he can remember, imparting cryptic messages relating to his deceased father and a mysterious piece of technology. Time travel, a tenuous relationship with his girlfriend, and the impending end of time itself all close in as Tommy sets out to discover the truth behind his father's death and redeem his scientific legacy, correcting or corrupting a "broken" timeline in the process.
Credits: Evan Henry (Co-writer, Letters), Jesse Johnson (Co-writer, Line Art)

The deadline for the work is approximately January 12, 2013. We are anticipating about 2 colored pages a week but with the holidays coming up the deadline is very flexible.

The colorist we are looking for must:

- have a desire to join our creative team and bring their own unique excitement to the project.
- be willing to accept suggestions and slight revisions prior to final art, yet bring their own creativity and ideas to the project. You are the colorist, YOU know what you are doing.
- have a good understanding of how to focus a panel and page composition.
- either do the flatting or hire a trusted and competent flatter independently.
- be open to communication.

The pay for the six pages will be $220 total (that is $36.66666666 per page) with the understanding that should the series get picked up by a publisher you will work for a back-end deal of 20% of the profits. The back-end deal is dependent on actually getting the series picked up and entirely negotiable should that time come.

A test page may be requested with compensation being $20. In other words, if you are asked to do a test page and you do so- you get $20 immediately. If we decide to use you you will be paid the remaining $200 balance (see payment schedule below). If we don't use you- you just made $20!

Payment will be made with PayPal using the following schedule:

- A $20 payment will be made immediately after submitting a low-res test page.

- A $100 payment will be made upon completion and submitting of three total low-res pages.

- The remaining $100 balance will be made upon submitting the total six high-resolution pages.

File size is currently 11" x 17" at 300dpi, I will crop and resize the final art myself.

Please send an e-mail containing links to your color work samples, any references you may have, as well as any pertinent information about yourself (your name, where you are from, native language, etc.) to:

Jesse Johnson (co-writer, penciler, inker).
