BackOfficeApps.com is a start up company looking to expand its application to new markets. We are located in St. Joseph, MO and Haskell, TX. We are seeking a Rails Developer to join our team. You would be working on projects for various clients in various fields of not-for-profit, agricultural and health.

It does not matter where you live as long as you work well with our team and can meet deadlines. You will be mostly working on your own but will report and collaborate with other team members.

Ideally, you:

* Love details, and pride yourself on getting them right
* Believe good design is more important than coding quickly
* Can code quickly anyway
* Solve problems methodically, and aren't afraid to ask for help
* Care not only about what you're building, but the strategy and creative behind it
* Highly motivated to drive projects to completion

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a lead web developer, you will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of building and maintaining several key applications. Primarily, you will work on developing and maintaining our customer-facing, production web applications. Duties will include:

* End-to-end web application development (database, business logic, front-end) for new site features -- and new web apps
* Back-end system development (internal admin applications, feed subscriptions, etc.)
* Operational support

REQUIREMENTS

At minimum, you will have at least a few years of professional experience with the following technologies. These are the tools that we work with every day and that we expect you to hit the ground running with. The quantity of your experience is not nearly as important as the quality of it.

* Ruby on Rails (+ other Rack-based systems i.e. Sinatra)
* Some RDBMS (e.g. MySQL), Redis
* HTML / CSS/ JavaScript
* Git

As your code will be deployed in a high-volume production environment, performance tuning and testing will be critical to success.
